Visitor Information Centre
The Nelson Visitor Information Centre is located in the centre of town with parking on Leake Street. The friendly staff can provide additional information about the activities in town, access to local amenities as well as the best sights to see nearby.
Open daily 10am -12.30pm then 1.30pm- 5pm (Except Christmas Day).

Tennis court
The Nelson Tennis Club is located in the heart of town and is available to visitors. Visitors can book the court space at the Nelson Visitor Information Centre. Access to the courts incurs a small fee.
Roadhouse
Our local roadhouse features a restaurant, take-away food, fuel and LPG gas refills. They also stock fishing tackle, bait, ice, fishing licences, milk, bread, ice-cream & basic groceries.

BBQs, Parks & Playgrounds
There are several large parks around Nelson township. Enjoy a picnic lunch on our lawns or at one of our seating areas. There are BBQ facilities for cooking and access to public bathrooms.
Nelson’s main park features a modern playground for children to enjoy. The same area also has a basketball ring.
Canoe launch sites
There are two local canoe launch sites accessible to visitors. The first is at west bank with access via Old Bridge Road. The second can be reached via Isle of Bags Road.
Boat ramp
Looking to set out on the water? Nelson has 3 easily accessible boat ramps to launch your craft. Access to the main boat ramp is via Leake Street. The west bank boat ramp can be accessed via Old Bridge Road and Simsons Landing boat ramp via Simsons Landing Road.

Organic produce farm
Sample premium locally grown organic fruit and vegetables at Rainbow OMG - Nelson’s very own organic market garden. Take home freshly picked delights to cook up at your accommodation. Rainbow OMG also offer market garden tours, which can be pre-booked.
Located at 47 Wade Street, Nelson, farmgate sales are available Monday-Saturday from 11am-5pm. They also hold an open farm market stall every second weekend.
